Two host options

Application-Based Repeaters

Both styles are solar powered and use the same radio inside. The main difference is the mounting style, reach, and uptime. Availability depends on approval, network need, and remaining supply.

Application Terms and Host Conditions

This is a limited WaunaMesh repeater host application, not a giveaway, sweepstakes, contest, lottery, or prize promotion. Submitting an email or application does not guarantee that a repeater will be provided.

Eligible applicants must be property owners with a host property in the Waunakee area, including Westport, generally within ZIP code 53597. WaunaMesh may approve or deny any host location based on network need, coverage value, existing nearby coverage, installation feasibility, available equipment, and other deployment considerations determined by the WaunaMesh organizer.

The offer is available only while supplies last and ends no later than June 20, 2026. WaunaMesh may end, modify, pause, or extend the offer at any time. Quantity is limited.

Approved host properties may be offered one of the available repeater options, depending on location and network need. The gutter clip solar repeater may be provided at no cost to approved host sites. The pole mount solar repeater requires a $40 host contribution, payable at delivery or installation by cash, check, Venmo, or another payment method accepted by WaunaMesh. Payment does not guarantee coverage performance, uptime, message delivery, or continued network availability.

Repeaters provided at no cost remain the property of WaunaMesh unless WaunaMesh agrees otherwise in writing. A property owner may request removal at any time by contacting WaunaMesh. If the property owner moves, sells the property, removes the repeater, or no longer wishes to host it, the property owner must notify WaunaMesh so the equipment can be removed, collected, reassigned, or serviced.

Installation and mounting will be handled case by case. The property owner is responsible for confirming that hosting and mounting are allowed under any applicable HOA rules, deed restrictions, lease terms, shared-property rules, insurance requirements, municipal rules, or other property restrictions. WaunaMesh may decline an installation if the location, mounting method, access, safety conditions, or expected coverage benefit is not suitable.

WaunaMesh may require reasonable periodic access to the repeater for maintenance, updates, testing, replacement, inspection, or removal. Access will be coordinated with the property owner. The repeater may be moved on the property if needed, and property owners may contact WaunaMesh for help with relocation or adjustment.

The repeater operates on the unlicensed 900 MHz band at approximately 158 mW. It is intended to relay low-bandwidth mesh radio traffic and does not require connection to the property owner's internet, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or electrical system. Operation is subject to applicable FCC rules for unlicensed devices, including the requirement that the device not cause harmful interference and that it accept interference received.

The repeater may broadcast an approximate location for mesh routing, mapping, diagnostics, or network coordination. The exact street address of the property will not be intentionally broadcast by WaunaMesh as the repeater location. However, radio signals, mapping tools, node names, coverage patterns, or other public mesh activity may allow others to infer the general area of a repeater.

No coverage, range, uptime, reliability, emergency communication, message delivery, solar charging, battery life, weather resistance, or network performance is guaranteed. The repeater is provided as community mesh infrastructure on an as-is and as-available basis. WaunaMesh makes no warranties, express or implied, and disclaims liability to the fullest extent permitted by law for installation issues, equipment failure, signal performance, loss of use, property damage, personal injury, interference, or other claims related to hosting, installation, maintenance, operation, removal, or use of the repeater.

By applying, the property owner confirms that the information provided is accurate, that they are authorized to approve installation at the property, and that they understand WaunaMesh will decide which locations receive equipment based on what best supports deployment and coverage of the local mesh network.
